Habitat for Humanity at UCF traveled to Alabama earlier this summer! Full of great History, our Campus Chapter went to Birmingham, Alabama to help local families by fixing up a roof, putting up exterior walls, and clearing the foundation for a new build site! With 19 eager students to volunteer a week of their time in the beginning of summer, we had a wonderful time exploring the city while giving back to a community other than our own. If you would like to take part in our next Collegiate Challenge, come out to our General Body Meetings throughout the semester to find out more information on how to be involved!
Habitat UCF's single largest fundraiser of the year, Shack-a-Thon, is just 2 weeks away (March 16-18) and preparation is in full force! 6 student organizations will be building original shacks to represent their club, and judging will be done by you- the students- to see who takes home the Crowd Favorite Shack award. Teams will also be able to win Most Money Raised and Most Original Shack. March 17th is Shack After Dark- a night of glow-in-the-dark sports, shack painting, face painting, and more! March 18th we will reveal all of the winners, as well as have a live DJ, rock climbing wall, and free giveaways. Join the Shack-a-Thon Facebook page to keep up to date with what's going on!
