Collegiate Challenge Iredell County 2012

January 9, 2012

Habitat’s Collegiate Challenge in Iredell County, North Carolina went AMAZING last week.

Thank you to everyone who went on the trip and for the bonding experience!

Emily :)

Thanks for an Awesome Semester!

November 30, 2011

We’ve accomplished so much in such a short amount of time, both locally and in the global community!

Thanks to your efforts and the donations we received during Act!Speak!Build! Week we were able to send funding directly to Habitat affiliates in Nicgaragua, Bangladesh, Madagascar, and Haiti.

This video describes the work Habitat for Humanity is currently doing in Haiti to address the pressing need for sufficient housing.  In addition to providing families with adequate shelter, Habitat for Humanity of Haiti is also providing citizens with instruction in financial literacy and disaster recovery, as well as employment opportunities.

By working with other Registered Student Organizations through the Environmental Coalition at UCF, we organized UCF’s inaugural National Recycle Week.  Throughout the week students from various organizations united to support support sustainability and environmentalism.

We had a blast getting to know everyone at tailgates, socials, and meetings!

Good luck with finals and I hope you have an awesome winter break,

Lo

Volcom’s Give Jeans a Chance!

October 8, 2011

Hiya!

Starting October 10, Habitat for Humanity at UCF will be participating in Volcom’s Give Jeans a Chance campaign! We will be collecting used  (but wearable) jeans, hoodies, and jackets until October 31.  All of these items will be donated to The Mustard Seed and distributed to Central Floridians in need.  We all have a pair of jeans that we no longer wear but for some reason refuse to part ways with–create some closet space! Bring your old jeans to the meeting on Tuesday and support our neighbors who are all to often neglected.
