Shack-A-Thon is an annual event sponsored by the UCF Habitat for Humanity campus chapter. Our goal is to bring different student groups and community organizations together for a few days of fun and fundraising. Each group will build a shack with limited time and supplies while a festival of activities entertains participants and spectators. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando, directly impacting the issue of substandard housing in the Central Florida area.
In order to make this event possible we are asking for your help through participation in our fundraising event. With your group’s contributions- through registration fees (which are covered by having your team raise funds prior to Shack-a-Thon), building a cool looking shack, raising money during the event, and helping with marketing the event (which will earn your team points towards awards given during the final ceremony)- we can ensure that Shack-a-Thon becomes a fun filled event that can truly make a difference in our area. Events like this are held by different Habitat campus chapters at universities all over the country and have been known to raise in excess of $15,000 in one night!
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in registering a team of up to 10 people, being a volunteer for this event, or have information on prospective sponsors or entertainment.
- If your organization decides it wants to register a team for Shack-a-Thon, we will email you a Registration Packet with all of the details and necessary paperwork that you need.
